I started in estate planning in 2009, working for a traditional firm. The work was rewarding — helping families protect what mattered most — but the industry frustrated me.
Everything was paper-based. Processes that should take minutes took days. Software was clunky or non-existent. And most firms were so stuck in their ways, they couldn't see how much better things could be.
I knew there was a better way. So I went out on my own, built the systems I wished existed, and started helping families directly. Word spread. Other estate planners started asking how I was doing things differently.
That's when I realised the biggest impact I could have wasn't just helping families one at a time — it was helping the professionals who serve thousands of them. That's what Project Will became.
