About Project Will

We started in 2009 after watching too many families get torn apart by poor planning — or no planning at all. Fifteen years on, we're still here, still helping.

Alex Sherwood, Founder of Project Will

How it started

I got into estate planning in 2009, but the real reason goes back further — to my nan's death in 2007.

She didn't have a will. What should have been a straightforward inheritance turned into two years of legal battles, £8,000 in solicitor fees, and a family that still doesn't speak properly to this day.

My mum was devastated. Not by the money — by the fighting. All of it preventable with one document she could've sorted in an afternoon.

That stuck with me. I kept thinking: why do solicitors make this so complicated? Why does it cost so much? Why don't more people do it?

So I trained, got qualified, and started helping people do it properly — without the ridiculous fees or the confusing legal speak. That's how Project Will was born.

What we believe

Everyone deserves proper help

Whether you've got £10,000 or £10 million, the worry is the same: you want to make sure your family is looked after. Price shouldn't be a barrier to that.

Plain English works better than legal jargon

Most people switch off when they hear words like "testamentary capacity" and "residuary estate." We explain things like normal humans, because that's what we are.

Honesty builds trust

If we can't help you, we'll say so. If you need a specialist, we'll tell you. We'd rather lose a sale than waste your time or give you bad advice.

This stuff matters

It's not glamorous work. But every will we write is one less family fighting in court. Every LPA is one less spouse locked out of a bank account. That matters to us.
